The jobs market is certainly experiencing a challenging time. The coronacoaster effect has meant that some sectors have seen a surge in demand, while others have been left reeling in its wake.

With our pivotal role in social care recruitment, we know it’s tough out there. Fortunately, we’re in a position to take a long view.

“When I started Pertemps Professional Recruitment in December 2016, I knew how important it would be to make the business robust and sustainable,” says MD, Andrew Anastasiou. “Growth has always been a priority, but it’s one thing having a really great idea, and another to execute and sustain a really successful start-up.”

Four years on, the business has grown dramatically, and so have our ambitions.

We’re delighted to welcome Graham Leatham to the business. An experienced recruiter who has built a career on the principles of the public sector, Graham has always been committed to finding the best people and building highly functioning teams.

New graduate team

At Pertemps Social Care, Graham will be heading up a new team who will reach out to the most exciting candidates. He’s determined to shake up the recruitment process by taking every opportunity he can see in social media and other channels.

A lot of graduate recruitment roles are heavily sales focused. This one is different.

“We’re looking to hire and develop imaginative and talented graduates,” says Graham. “We have a unique approach which goes against the traditional, heavily sales focused model. Rather than stressing the need for business development, this is a rounded role.”

“These people will experience candidate attraction, marketing and interviewing,” he says. “They’ll use bespoke IT systems to organise candidate and client data and the rigorous compliance process.” Additionally – and, says Graham, one of the most important aspects of the role - will be candidate aftercare.

The job market may seem bleak for graduates at the moment, but we’re not taking this cohort for granted. There will always be competition for the most talented graduates with the best imagination and highest energy levels, and Graham is keen to offer them something special.

We’re keen to hear from candidates who are educated to degree level; ideally in a subject or combination that has significant exposure to Marketing, Media, Digital Media, Communications, HR, Business, Journalism or similar.

Successful candidates will be:

  • experts with social media: able to see and articulate how social media tools can be used for recruiting.
  • Strong in communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • IT competent, and have the ability to learn new apps and interfaces quickly.
  • Able to work to deadlines and under pressure, at times working independently.
  • Committed to delivering excellent service.
