This Brentwood based Secondary School are seeking to appoint an English Teacher for the new academic year in 2020. This is a permanent position, and the role includes general English teaching between KS3- KS5. The school will accept NQTs and fully qualified teachers.
The Secondary School has a unique approach for global education, the school teaches 8 different languages and has fantastic exchange programmes for students. The School believes this improves the students creativity and social skills by pushing some students out of their comfort zone. The Secondary School is currently rated ‘good’ by Ofsted. They have been praised on outstanding teamwork and leadership, which has a clear vision that prepares the pupils for life outside of education. Furthermore, the school’s mission is to ensure that their students acquire a passion for the learning of foreign languages.
As an English Teacher at this Secondary School you will have the responsibility of KS3, KS4 and Sixth Form learning and academic achievements. The most recent GCSE results for the Department in 2019 was an impressive 87% of students achieved a 9-4 result on the AQA exam board. You will be expected to plan lessons where students will work in groups, pairs and individual activities.
A successful Candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Exceptional English subject knowledge
- That you are educated to Degree Level in English based subjects
- You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from UK PGCE or SCITT Programme
- That you are passionate about raising aspirations and improving life chances
- Clear thinking with outward looking and good interpersonal skills
