Pertemps Education are looking for a Qualified Secondary Science Teacher who is available from September 2020 for a permanent role to teach KS3 – KS4. The school are a "Good" secondary School based in Southend-On-Sea who are committed to the success of their learners, recognising the needs of each individual pupil. 

The Science department in the partner school has just had a large investment to refurbish the laboratories. The laboratories have been furnished with the latest equipment in order for the students to get the most out of every Science lesson. Within the science department there are 4 Technicians, who will provide a high standard of support for you throughout the day, and other Science Teachers, who are keen to develop the Science Department further.

As a part of this Science Teacher role, you will be preparing  Years' 7 to 9 students for all three areas of Science and in Years 10 to 11 the students will study each areas individually; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In this role you will also be teaching students within the Sixth Form, this includes A Levels in Biology, Chemistry or Physics, as well as a BTEC in Applied Science.

In order to be considered for this role, the Science Teacher will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree with QTS
  • Proven experience teaching the UK, or an equivalent, curriculum
  • NQTs and/or OS-trained teachers are welcome to apply
  • Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
