One of our SEN Specialist Schools in Southend are seeking a Permanent SEN Teacher of Life Skills from September, NQT's are greatly advised to apply also. This is a School that specialises in the provisions of education for those who are unable to sustain their time within mainstream education, focusing on pupils with strong SEMH diagnosis (Challenging Behaviour) and SLD ( Severe learning disability).
Based near Southend,, the school has great transport links via road and bus routes. The school also benefits from its own animal petting centre and workshop.

- Qualified Teacher Status (non-essential) in relevant subject, such as Functional Skills, English, Life Skills
- Commitment to developing your SEND curriculum knowledge
- Ability to build positive working relationships with staff, students and pupils
- Ability to control and de-escalate high end behaviour amongst secondary age pupils, including ability to deal with verbal outbursts.
