A special speaker will be at the 36th Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards this Friday, which celebrates the achievements of women nationwide.

Dr Helen Pankhurst, the great grand-daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, a British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote, will be keynote speaker at this year’s hotly anticipated event.

Helen is passionate about continuing the legacy started by her great grand-mother and grandmother, Sylvia Pankhurst. Sylvia was a campaigner for the suffragette movement in the UK. Helen is carrying on their work with her women’s rights activism.

The annual Women of the Year Awards honours the accomplishments of exceptional women – both in the world of business and personal achievement.

Pertemps are sponsors of the prestigious awards, where Chairperson, Carmen Watson, is a judge.

Carmen said: “Pertemps has been a long-time supporter of Women of the Year and we’re delighted to again be backing an event that encourages women to aspire to hold senior positions within companies across the UK.
“Whatever your business, we all know and work with inspirational women whose achievements – particularly in traditionally male dominated industries – do not often get the recognition they deserve. It’s thanks to WOTY, and this year’s charities Revitalise and The Princes Trust, that we can give credit where credit is due.”
