Registered Mental Health Nurse



Salary £32-37k depending on experience



Hours - 37.5 a mixture of shifts.



Job Role:





To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans

To participate in a range of assessments including risk and self-harm

To supervise a designated number of staff and assume a ‘mentor' role for our Care Pathway staff

To assist in standard setting and evaluating quality outcomes

To take charge of the home in the absence of the Registered Manager

Key Responsibilities



To work as a Primary/Named Nurse/Key Worker advising and supporting junior colleagues

To maintain good standards of communication, both oral and written, in accordance with NMC guidance

To be responsible for reporting to the Manager (or nominated deputy) any circumstances that may affect the delivery of care and /or efficient running of the service

To provide supervision to other staff, qualified and unqualified

To ensure that all staff adhere to Company policies and local procedures

Person Specifications:



Essential:



Registered Nurse (Mental Health)

Passionate about care

Knowledge of Mental Health Act and associated legislation

Knowledge of therapeutic approaches

Knowledge of Care Programme Approach and associated statutory legislation

Knowledge of standard setting process

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing

Flexible approach to care

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Ability to work flexibly over the 24-hour period

Ability to use the clinical supervision process effectively

Ability to identify and use opportunities for self-development

Commitment to the values of equal opportunities, policy and practice

Experience in administrating medication

IT skills/computer literate

Desirable



An interest in innovative areas of practice

Some knowledge of Psychological/Cognitive Therapies use in Mental Health practice.

Presentation skills

Research and Development skills.

Experience of teaching/training
