Our Client is looking for a Childcare Manager
They run a School and Children's Home for 5-19 year olds, a College for 18-25 year olds and a Residential Care Home with Nursing. They provide education, care and medical support for people of all ages who have epilepsy and other complex needs
Our client is looking for an individual to manage a team that encourages young people to achieve their potential and live life to the full.
You will lead residential care teams who deliver care and support to young people in various aspects of their day to day life, including: Learning/Leisure/Activities, Daily Living; Personal Care; Education; Emotional, Spiritual and Cultural needs; Management of Finances; Health, Safety and Risk Management
Qualifications
OCR Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare; or Children's and Young People's Workforce Level 3 Diploma; or equivalent NVQ3.
A recognised social work qualification or a professional qualification relevant to working with children, at least at Level 4 or the ability to enrol on the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services within 6 months and complete within 2 years.
A qualification in management at least at Level 4 or the ability to enrol on the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services within 6 months and complete within 2 years.
Full UK valid Driving License
Experience

Good understanding of safeguarding legislation and associated policies.
Understanding of learning disabilities.
Good understanding of health & safety issues in the care and support of children/vulnerable people.
Sound knowledge of epilepsy and associated disorders
Understanding of autism
Ability to manage change.
Able to get to and from the workplace which is not on a public transport route.
